    It’s all about aircraft utilisation and getting more out of the 787s. QF9/10 between PER and MEL has low loads and isn’t prudent use of aircraft they are short of. On days QF9/10 doesn’t operate PER-MEL, the back 2 rows of business are sold as PE on the A330 flight closest to QF...

    Except that 60% of Qantas' PER-LHR passengers commence their journey from WA, so it's unlikely Qantas would ditch a highly profitable route simply because of a 3-6 month delay in being able to reactivate it.

    I think you just answered why they used La Compagnie......all their the planes that could do the journey are grounded.

    I’ve done it several times without an issue. Only once got into F lounge with the family, they’re very strict on it as you note.

    Mumbai (BOM), Kolkata (CCU), Chennai (MMA), Beijing (PEK) and St Petersburg (LED) also fit that category of codes associated with previous names / spelling. I'm sure there are plenty of others. I guess they are difficult to change??
