My daughter's 2000-odd QF points are due to expire 31 December and there's no obvious way for her (or me) to use them or earn more in that timeframe to prevent expiry. Family transfers requires a min 5000 points.
There was an article recently around QF easing up on these rules recognising these challenges, but I can't find any detail and certainly no obvious way online of fixing this issue. Does anyone have any suggestions? Apparently me transferring points to her doesn't count towards preventing points expiry.

Just wondering, if you transferred 5000 points to her, can she then transfer 7000 points to you?

If you are in Australia why not just fuel up your car at BP and swipe the QFF card?

Yes, that's how I have transferred balances <5,000 off my kids' accounts.

2000 is not a huge number of points but if you are keen to keep them then maybe just open up a free BP Rewards membership and link it to your childs frequent flyer number. You can grab a temporary BP Rewards card from the counter at the service station and link it up pretty quickly. After it's linked up - purchase some fuel, scan the card when you pay, and the points should arrive soon after in the frequent flyer account. That activity will ensure the account does not close on December 31. Similar to APACPete's suggestion above - which is also quick and easy.

Get the QF Wellbeing app and check the tyre pressure on your bicycle?

One option is to transfer points to her, enough to buy a gift card, they are 25% off currently in the Qantas store.

Hi apacau. Qantas tells us the online transfer limit is being reduced from 5,000 to 1,500 points from Dec 15, while transfers of points below that limit can be done over the phone. Our 'Your guide to flying Qantas with children and infants' article has been updated to reflect this.

I handle this simply by switching my linked Woolworths everyday rewards card to the kids FF and do a shop each year. Alternatively you have an everyday rewards card for each child and just use that once a year. This will add a few points to their account, problem solved 🙂

And to all those laughing about only 2000 points, I hear what you're saying as I have millions too, but i believe "every bit counts" and so it's small effort to start a piggy bank at their youngest age !

As already mentioned, transfer 5000 to her and transfer 7000 back to yourself. There is no need to complicate the issue by trying anything else.
