I need to read the fine print to see what it says about Under 12s, especially toddlers. The general consensus globally seems to be that they should be exempt from needing a vaccine, but are not exempt for the testing.

  • Exactly this. "Then show must go on"US and UK are by no means the shining examples. AU government and health systems should be able to tolerate X amount of cases without locking down borders, economies etc. Victoria the obvious exception as they need a few weeks to get the 500-700 cases per day u...

  • My favorite part of this is "it's not realistic in the long term"Is the only option to have these rolling lock-downs until a vaccine is available AND widely distributed?

  • What did Joyce actually say around the July date? A lot of outlets are reporting no international travel until July 2021 but it seems he meant the "majority" of international flights won't resume until July 2021

The plan is basically hold tight until the vaccine is available. I do agree with others that the NSW-QLD border ...

Skier I reckon GregXL knew exactly what he meant when he typed "Christmas gatherings will have to be on zoom this year".I think the Australian government will at some stage move to quarantine at your fixed address for 14 days like it was a while back. I'd be surprised (but happy) if this happened...

The only thing i can think of as an alternative is over 55s "shield" and await priority doses of vaccine.Under 55s get back to working and travelling, employing social distancing, mask wearing in public and good hand hygiene. But then again, govt must have considered this option and discounted it ...
