Virgin Australia's new Velocity partnership for frequent diners

IN BRIEF | Virgin Australia plugs a gap in its Velocity frequent flyer scheme today with the launch of an 'eat-and-earn' partnership with bookarestaurant.com.

The programme allows Velocity members to earn 300 points for each booking made through the special bookarestaurant.com/velocity page.

Velocity members can make a booking for free, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The website is directly linked to the reservation management system at all participating restaurants, reflecting real-time table availability of that particular restaurant at that particular time.

Once the reservation is made, the booking information is communicated directly with the restaurant, and an email confirmation is instantly sent to the diner.

And if you'd rather order takeaway than dine in, you can earn Velocity points (normally 2 per dollar, currently 4 per dollar) through Menulog at this address: https://www.shopandearn.com.au/food-drink/menulog
