Bombardier's next-gen business class seat for the private jet-set

There's plenty to be said for flying on a private jet, but Bombardier reckons that the seats themselves have plenty of room for improvement – so here is how the Canadian company plans to bring those business class seats up to spec.

Christened the Nuage – the French word for 'cloud' – it's claimed to the first major change in business aircraft seats in 30 years.

A recline-and-tilt movement sees the Nuage dip back as it's tilted, creating a deep recline to keep the body fully cradled and supported.

At the same time, the headrest can be angled forward to provide extra support – especially if you want to read, chat with your fellow passengers or catch a movie on your private cinema above the clouds.

Bombardier is also said to be working on a companion Nuage divan/bed which will debut alongside the Nuage seat on its Global 7000 jet later this year.

The Global 7000 is rated as an ultra-long rage business jet with the capability to fly non-stop between Hong Kong and New York or Singapore to San Francisco.

I've noted a fair bit of ultra-long rage in business lately

Would I be able to buy the seats only and put in my lounge then dream that I be on a private jet?

The downside of flying on the company jet with the big boss is having to forgo the comfort of the fully-flat bed that you'd have had if you'd flown commercial. At least this seat looks like it gets a lot closer to a more comfortable sleeping position.

Looks like it would make a great Premium Economy or domestic Business Class seat.
