Bah, extra info... When I used to book SYD-ORD it would give me the option of using QF11 and connecting to ORD in LAX on AA. I've just gone to book a couple of trips next year and QF is now only offering flights via DFW (QF7/8) or via LAX using QF107. Would rather guarantee a fully flat bed on the A380, so are now having to go through the (relatively painful) multi-city process, which does't add any cost, but is a pain when I'm booking a pile of trips at once. So why not offer the A380 flights - why make it hard for me?

Conspiracy theory: they want to sell more flights on the DFW route because they're not selling well enough.
