The word from Qantas is that as there is no "equivalency" in the product offering of First across the Tasman, they will not be offering EK First booked through QF.

A few people jumping to conclusions here... happy to report that we've raised this with Qantas and Emirates' A380 first class across the pond will be "available to book on qantas.com shortly", says QF PR. "We are feeding a lot of changes through the system from yesterday, and it will take a few days for them to all show up."

That's great to hear David, thanks for that. I had not been jumping to a conclusion, it was something I was told by the QF service desk when I rang and asked about it. I'm glad that you got the right information.
