The Days of the First Int Lounge Domestic runs on QF / JQ is basically over. There are no QFs & only minimal JQs sectors available.

These are the only sectors I can find.

Time Day Flight Route

08:25 08:50 - - -W - - JQ11 SYD-OOL

13:00 14:30 - M - - - - - JQ1 SYD-MEL

17:20 18:50 - - - - - F - JQ4

Am I correct. My opinion now is AKL etc sectors are far more worthwhile when specials are on & the ease of Check In & Passport control to NZ in Sydney now

Opinions please. Thanks :) Keith

If the only objective of your taking flights and maintaining Qantas Platinum status was just to use the First Class lounge, wouldn't you prefer to just take your pick of fine dining restaurant and day spa every now and then?

Flying to Auckland (or even to the Gold Coast) JUST to spend some time in the First Class lounge seems like a lot of effort...

I can see the sense in taking a Sydney-Melbourne Jetstar flight out of the international terminal and enjoying some time in the Qantas first class lounge if you are planning a Sydney-Melbourne trip anyway. That makes perfect sense to me. But if are these 'lounge runs' where you book a flight just so you can use the Qantas first class lounge, well I'm sorry Keith but this seems a bit pointless to me.

When I've needed to travel Syd - Mel, I've definitely tried to plan it around the flight that departs from international terminal.

I've also chosen to take an international holiday rather than a domestic one because I wanted to use the first lounge. May take a holiday to AKL later this year.

I've never done a "lounge run" where the trip's sole purpose was to use the lounge. I think I'd rather spend more money and eat at the real rockpool.

Agree that there's never been very many of these flights. They also change all the time, I can't say if there's more or less now than a year ago. Might just be a temporary seasonal shift.

Not sure if the BNE lounge is exciting and on par with SYD. Will SYD-BNE-MNL make a return?
