I think the key to the OW (QF) LAX lounge is to assume nothing is being done about it. When it FINALLY happens then you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Ha, basically what I was thinking as well. I thought there could be a chance that David may have heard some industry whispers of progress or another unsurprising delay.

If the CGI's that QF keep releasing (HK/LAX lounges, biz suites et al) actually come to fruition sooner rather than later that would be nice.

JoshB: If we had heard whispers we'd not report them (as we avoid goss), and ditto if we had received any 'off the record' info from QF... best assumption to proceed upon is that when there is actual news that we can share, we'll be pretty quick to share it.

The HK one is definitely under construction, there is also a banner in the existing reception area that says it's due "early 2014" (or something along those lines). 

As for LAX, who knows. A lot of it has probably got to do with the construction of the terminal rather than QF specifically. 

I used the Qantas managed OW LAX lounge prior to my BA flight last Friday and the lounge was just crowded as usual with the late BA A380 flight and the multiple QF flights.There was no evidence of construction/reovation in the lounge proper,but there was construction further down on the same level.The service company person at the lounge entry desk was not even aware  QF was constructing a new lounge-but usually the are the last to know.I can tell you i did run into a QF airport duty manager whome i see regularly and while i did not ask him specifically about the lounge,he did tell me that upon  completion of the new lounge Qantas will be moving BNE flights back to TBIT-so all QF flights will depart from the same terminal. 

There was a video from early-Jan and it was still very much a construction site.

The construction on the same floor will be the old Star Lounge which is being consumed as part of the new oneworld terminal as well as a level with balcony in the new central TBIT atrium

When I visited the LAX lounge on Saturday they had a banner at the lift stating that the new Business Lounge would open in April, but as others have said, nothing in the way of construction was obvious.
