I'm one of the lucky PER/SIN flyers in September whose route has been cut. I called today and was told that i would be contacted next week with an "alternate" flight. Should be interesting seeing that i paid full fare for a full service airline. The only options i can see is Jetstar.....which is not quite the same...or QF might need to buy some SQ seats...i'll let you know next week what the offer is....if anyone else is in the same boat, please let me know...I am a Plat FF so lets see if they look after me or throw me to the perils of back row middle seat Jetstar midnight horror....!

It would be pretty funny if they put you on SQ.

I personally wouldn't accept Jetstar as an option, I would suspect they might put you on a CX flight via HK?

I suppose MH via KUL would be the fastest way to get to SIN.

Though if I were booked in J and had time to kill CX's product is far superior to MH's, and the HKG lounges are fantastic.

Ask for a full refund from Qantas and then just swap to SQ to get to Singapore. Looks like the arrival of Etihad into Perth in June can't arrive quickly enough. I've jsut done my first Qatar J class from Perth to Manchester which was excellent. Qantas is finished.

Lawrence, think of it this way. You'll have to route your international itinerary via the east cost - more opportunity to earn points and SC towards your Plat status! The cost would only be marginally higher if any!

And you'll get to use the First lounge at MEL or SYD. The QF international business lounge is a bit of a joke.

Interesting situation especially considering that you Platinum. Please keep posting.

My condolence – AY replaced A330 on BKK-HEL-BKK to A340 and I will have old sloppy seats instead of marvelous new ones. I should consider myself in better situation –as least I know with whom I am flying.
