Does anyone know why Virgin Australia hasnt picked up on a few routes frome Adeliade, For instance I'm sure a ADL- HBT route would do quite nicely with a E190.

Does anyone know why Virgin Australia hasnt picked up on a few routes frome Adeliade, For instance I'm sure a ADL- HBT route would do quite nicely with a E190. And one that I've always hoped for is an ADL-DRW route. Connections could be made to destinations like Manila and Dili, Cheers.

Economics..VA is a business...risk/benefit analysis..aircraft availability..route viability.. profitability..costs... other factors.

It's all very nice to 'want' direct servives from point A to point B (we all 'want' lots of routes 'from everywhere to everywhere', but VA (and any other business), operate to generate profits

VA used to service HBA-ADL with a 737-700 and later on the Embraer 170. This wasn't a profitable route for them and therefore withdrew. Jetstar and Tigerair have also tried this route with zero success.

Thanks for your response guys, it seem strange that a Adeliade or Perth to Hobart route isn't viable. But thanks anyway for you responses and I apologise if these questions seem stupid, it's just curiosity. Thanks.
