Does anyone who has been in both know if there is a massive difference in these lounges? Finally flying business next month so get to check out the Silverkris one this time where as other times have been on economy and used velocity platinum but only gets you into the Gold (the lower tier surprisingly from the name!) lounge. Is the Silver one closer to a first class lounge or just more exclusive access with similar facilities to the gold lounge?

For silver from singapore airlines website

"You can enjoy access to our lounges if you are our Suites, First or Business Class passenger, or PPS Club members departing on Singapore Airlines operated flights. "

And for gold

"You can enjoy access to our KrisFlyer Gold lounge if you are our KrisFlyer Elite Gold member departing on Singapore Airlines Economy Class."

The Silver Kris lounge is the "true" Business Class lounge at Changi for SQ. That lounge also has a First Class section.

The main difference between the Silver Kris Lounge and the KrisFlyer Gold lounge is the lack of shower facilities at the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge.

The thing with SQ is that their flight experience is better than their lounges. It's nothing compared to the Qantas lounge in Singapore. But the attitude and snob factor of the passengers in the Silver Kris lounge will certainly make you FEEL like you're in some place special (if you're that shallow)!

Huge difference IMHO, SilverKris Lounge as TRB stated is a "true" J class lounge, much bigger buffet and food choices. As you would know from having entered the Gold Lounge, there is no Toilet or Shower facilities there, Silver lounge has both of those (as one would expect)

I also agree that the QF lounge in Singapore beats both lounges. Enjoy SQ J class though, unless you're on an A330, you're in for a treat :)

SQ's A330 are the same seats as Virgin Australias trans-con A330 services in J, if you've flown VA J domestically on A330 from BNE-SYD-MEL to Perth or vice versa, those are the seats you can expect.

"Lie flat" but not "fully flat" unfortunately.

Yeah the SQ A330 J seats are still quite nice but on an overnight flight they can be a little uncomfortable depending on your height and length of flight.
