[QFi] Can't OLCI at T-24. I'm trying to check in for QF35 tomorrow night, departing 2035 SIN time. I have a connection ex-MEL to SYD at 1000+1 MEL time, does that push back my OLCI opening?

I'm confused as this hasn't happened before.

For the record, the Manage My Booking engine says I can check in as I'm T-23.

Most people seem to be experiencing this "upgrade" to Qantas' OLCI process. You won't be able to check in until T-24 on your MEL-SYD flight.

Happened on both of my xmas journeys, which were 2 sector domestics. I wondered if this was intentional from QF, or simply a coding bug that slipped through. Does anyone know how long this has been the case? A systems change close to xmas would be very surprising.

Don't print out your BP though.  Just check in only.  This one for the SIN side.

When I passed SIN in 2012, with an A4 paper of the boarding pass, printed from the hotel printer, the guard would not let me enter the secure zone/area with the A4 piece of paper BP.

He said I had to go to Check In to get the actual oblong cardboardy actual real BP.  Probably because he (the guard) had to stamp his little SATS stamp onto the BP.

Aust side, no one cares if you use an A4 piece of paper with bar code or QR code, but SIN is a stickler.

Maybe others don't have had this, but that was for my experience.

And T-24 from your second QF flight is correct, check in can only happen once the check in time of the second flight starts in that 24 hours period.  Esp if on the same PNR.

Sorry about that double.

Paa, it has always been the case, if (as I mentioned) on the same booking/PNR, you have to wait till the check in time of your 2nd flight's time scale to check in online.

I do fly QF a lot, am now SG.  Also, if your flight is with another airline, on and belalf of QF, you have to check in with that airline, (apart from QFlink).

I had a flight with LA from AKL to SYD, with a QF flight number, went to QF desk at AKL airport, they told me to check in with LA desk!

If you try to check in T-24 for the first one, with the 2nd flight due to depart in that 24 hours, the note would say
"check in at the airport".  But if you wait for a while, till 24 hours before your 2nd flight, it will allow you to do OLCI.

Thanks guys, in order to secure my seat I rang up the carrier over Skype to move my assignments without needing to pay (within T-24 but not via OLCI) and then left it to this morning to check in.

All good now - and yes, OLCI is online check in.

Still need to go to counter to have your Aust (I assume) passport's data double line scanned into the airline's system though.  The 2 lines with all these marks >>> on it at the bottom of the photo page.

Analolgy: yes, a lot of you don't like me doing this: but when I was new to OLCI int, I had done OLCI ADL to PER to SIN (when QF still flew PER to SIN), I didn't know I had to have my then new Aust passport's data line scanned.

So, went through ADL dom, as it was a dom flight ADL to PER, the gate light scanner kept blinking red.  3 or more times, was told to go to the counter nearest the gate, and have passport data line scanned.

After that, the light was green for me.

Same as when I went SYD to AKL, the Air NZ staff were paging people at the gate to have their passport data double line scanned  Assumed these people had done OLCI, but did not go to Air NZ's counter in the open area to have passport data double line scanned.

I'm due to fly out to LHR today - my seat request, meal and upgrade request were all lost today when I checked in.

I also couldn't check in online either.

Something weird is going on with the system
