You could win a share of 1 million Qantas Points - Qantas Frequent Flyer

Hmm, just got an email for this promo. 

Promotion Period: from 00.01 Monday 9 March to 23.59 on Monday 18 May 2015. During the Promotion Period, Australia resident Qantas Frequent Flyer members must visit qantaspoints.com/destination and submit a 'Points Destination'. Eligible entrants can gain further entries by earning Qantas Points with Qantas Frequent Flyer partners during the Promotion Period (one additional entry per Partner). Prize Draw: 2.00pm (AEST) Friday 29 May 2015 at MDSA, 15 Grosvenor Street, Neutral Bay NSW 2089. Winners will be determined by an automated random draw of all eligible entries. There are five (5) prizes of 200,000 Qantas Points each. 
The maximum notional value of each prize is AU$1,400, with a total prize pool of AU$7,000. Winner notification: The winners will be notified by email within 2 business days of the draw, and their names will be published in The Australian newspaper on Friday 5 June 2015.

Qantas giving it's points a notional value of 1.43 cents then.

I think I've muffed that up somewhere. No doubt someone more mathematically minded can provide the correct answer.

What is a Points Destination? And what personal information do you have to sacrifise for the chance of winning?

It seems all you have to do is say what you'd like to do with any won points, and that's it (you can also shop or dine at bonus partners for extra chances to win). I've copied the various T&C paragraphs for your questions.

What's "notional value"? I know what the word means but...........This generation has successfully spun the spin off the planet. 

Just a guideline as to what Qantas thinks it's own points are worth. Depending on how you use your points value can vary greatly. It's more a measure of interest rather than any hard and fast benchmark.

It happens Jack, that's why I thought it worth popping on AusBT so all us frequent flyer hounds were given the heads-up, even if their personal email invite is out tripping in the Internet somewhere.

Gippsflyer: thanks, we got a heads-up on this from QF and were going to run something up on Monday, for exactly the same reasons you've mentioned :)

Another rubbish campaign from Qantas - many destinations where Qantas flys imposible to select. Bangkok or Honkong for example.

They're valuing them at $0.007 i.e less than a cent. Surprising as you can get significantly higher on business upgrades etc. This is about what gift cards sit at in terms of redemption rate.
