No, there is an AMEX Lounge in Melbourne. It is near the Qantas Bus Lounge.

Indeed. The AIR NZ is underneath the main level looking onto the tarmac. The views can be interesting if there are aircraft nearby.

Hi Chris,Offering was totally different. One hot option (chicken drumsticks), limited cold options (only some vegetable sticks and one type of dip) I was there for the whole service so definitely didn't miss anything.

Doubtful. The premium card market is so competitive in the US they have to keep pushing the mark, AMEX Platinum is unrivalled here.

Hilton has the best program for Australian domestic travellers in my opinion. The best rewards of any scheme at gold level, and then diamond even better, plus there are properties in every major city except Canberra and Hobart

Keep in mind that the QF a380 business product is the same as the 747 with a few benefits such as the inflight lounge etc. Transitting in LAX I definitely don't enjoy but the a380 is phenomenal to fly! If you will earn enough SC for status, then stick with Qantas for sure :)
