Hi,

A question that hopefully some experienced flyers may have some feedback on.

I am flying QF LHR-MEL in January in F. I need to fly though from DUB-LHR to connect to this flight.

If I book BA DUB-LHR am i

a) able to tag my bags all the way through to MEL (this would be great as I would not have to worry about collecting bags and checking them in etc and could spend more time chilling out in the first lounges) It would not be on the same booking however so how would I go about this. Is simply BA and QF being in a alliance enough or do I need to contact a call centre to help this or to help with this.

b) As I am flying first with Qantas would the one world benefits apply here for lounge access in Dublin as I am connecting to a First long Haul flight. Again this would be a separate booking so not sure if this is applicable.

"Customers flying in Economy class on the domestic or intra-European segment to connect to or from a oneworld longhaul First or Business Class flight can also use the lounge applicable to the class in which they are travelling on the longhaul segment"

Have no experience with this before so any help on the matter would be great thanks.

Have never done this route with QF so im not 100% sure but experience from doing similar connections on other routes generally means to be able to connect without re checking bags means that you have to have one booking for the whole route you intend to fly. I think you may have had to have booked MEL-DUB in one booking to be able to do this. Maybe AusBT might be able to verify this. Sorry i cant be more help

Unsure about lounge question as im not a oneworld/general QF flyer. Sorry
