On a EK 777 in J without on board bar/snacks facility, if you were feeling peckish after meals were served, would you be able to ask for a cheese platter, sandwich etc.

depends what the printed menu states for the particular flight...or ask what is available...at the end of the day, they cant provide anything that isnt on the aircraft

J on a EK A380 is supurb with Bar/snacks available most of the flight. Just wondering how many goodies they have stashed for such requests, nuts, fruit, olives etc. on a 777.  I don't plan asking for a second meal...

sgb, not sure how helpful this will be but this is from an A380 business class menu from a Dubai-Brisbane flight I had lying around.

These options were available after the main lunch service which began the flight and pretty much until breakfast (a separate part of the menu) began closer to landing.

They will always have something available. Worst case scenario you'd be looking at a bag of chips and a chocolate bar, or equivalent.

Given enough surplus meals after the service they would probably even bring you a second meal, if you were nice about it.

I was recently on a 777 in J from DXB to SIN and slept through the meal. When I asked for a snack later (about 90 minutes from landing) I got some nuts and a plate of crackers and cheese but couldn't  convince them to serve me a meal

90min before landing I can understand as they have probably switched off the ovens (and they might take some time to heat up) but cold snacks should always be available
