I'm having issues with the new Qantas Business Rewards program and it looks like its poorly understood inside Qantas. I recently made 2 seperate bookings through AMEX Concierge (return to Melb and return to Singapore) I asked them to add the ABN to the booking but for whatever reason it didn't come through properly. That's fine so I check out the Qantas website on how to add it myself, just go to manage your flight and add it there... simple right?

For the Melb return flight it was done and was really simple, for the Singapore flight however I don't have the same option... so I decide to call Qantas. The first response is everyone seems a little confused about Business Rewards, I was told you can't add the ABN after its booked (had to explain i'd already done exactly that for another flight). I've now been transferred and spoke to 3 different departments all unable to help. The kicker is the last team I spoke to told me that international flights aren't eligible for Business Rewards...

Ive found that if you are missing an email address in the booking the "add ABN" section wont show up in a booking for you to add your ABN / Q Business Rewards.

Ive also had success contacting QF via the Business Rewards portal under the Contact Section and had points added that werent working through the "Claim Missing Flight" section on the site. They usually fixed it within a few days and called me after to confirm it was done.
Although i did one request a few weeks ago that i didnt hear back from them about a claim and then i went in a week later and was able to claim the flight through the portal.

Thanks, I've submitted a request there will see how it goes. Its just frustrating when a company doesn't understand how their own product works, and worse rather than saying we don't know can we get back to you they just tell you random things that clearly aren't true.

A bit late on this.....If you fly AUS - USA I highly recommend the UA small/medium business program. My business doesn't earn points/credits (the traveler does), however, the discounts are fantastic - 5% - 25% off Business class, a bunch of Economy classes also discounted. They also give you an 'amenity fund' to spend on stuff like lounge passes and memberships.
