Just received my first APEC Card, curious what people's experience is with using the card for holidays rather than business use. Searching online seems to suggest the card is for business trips only, but people seem to be using it on holidays without issue. Specifically any experience with using the card for China holidays would be appreciated. In places like Singapore and Thailand you don't need a visa for personal trips so there is no downside to being declined use of the APEC Card on entry, but for China a visa would otherwise be required so an APEC card denial could result in deportation? Thanks.

No you cannot use your APEC card for non-business purposes.
