Hello,
I have a MEL > SYD > NAN itinerary in a couple of weeks. As a Platinum QFF, wondering if I can check bags in kerbside in Melbourne at the First Checkin and then walk over to the domestic terminal, or if (as I assume) I'd need to check in at the Domestic Terminal Counters?

Bingham these days I can check in on the mobile app for international flights via domestic connections, both in the US and Australia Interesting to see if bag drop works as well. Well worth a try and it well may work.

I always take my luggage to the Melbourne domestic check-in counter where there is a premium lane. Eliminates the risk of the luggage not being transferred to International in Sydney as they tag for the transfer, ask the security questions etc. I have never been held up here for more than a couple of minutes.

I would highly doubt the QF staff would check you in at the International Terminal, if you are flying on a domestic flight. Secondly, the International Baggage belt system does not link with the domestic belt system, so even if they did check your bags in, i would not be expecting your bag to make your flight.
