Hey ET fam,

Qantas have replaced most LAX services out of SYD with the A380. I’m currently flying in Feb and both services were swapped from Dreamliner to the A380.

Current seat maps on the A380’s scheduled are the older non-refurbished planes with the 2-2-2 layout in business.

What have others experience been with the following…

- Likelihood of aircraft change to refurbished aircraft?

- Likelihood of high tier frequent fliers being upgraded to first cabin? They’re not selling it, but it appears in business seat selection but all seats blocked out. Do these seats open up closer to departure or is it an ‘at airport prior to departure’ opportunity?

Would love peoples thoughts.

I am a massive fan of the new business suites in comparison to the older sky beds, and of course if I were to end up on an older non refurbished plane, then any intel on how as Platinum I can be in best chance to get downstairs in first cabin would be much appreciated. Thanks.
