In a masterful stroke of timing, Sydney Airport has opened a Penfolds wine boutique in the duty-free zone of its T1 international terminal.
After all, Aussie wines - especially our reds – are hard to beat as a Christmas gift for friends, family and colleagues overseas.
Sydney Airport is aiming for the pop-up style boutique to let travellers "enjoy a sensory 'cellar door experience' from one of Australia’s most prestigious wine brands".
The Penfolds boutique offers tastings and new vintage releases alongside classics, with a professional team of multilingual wine experts on hand to help travellers choose the right drop.
While the store will be dedicated solely to Penfolds for the bulk of the year, its design allows it to be transformed and rebranded for key launches or releases of other brands, such as the Wolf Blass Luxury release scheduled for September 2014.

wow....Im looking forward to having a much wider range of Penfolds to pay through the nose for at T1. Nothing better than sitting down for a $9 Croissant, $12 Burger and an overpriced wine while im waiting for my flight. Sydney airport is a disgrace. An overpriced shopping centre disgused as an airport.

agreed,just bought supplies for xmas yesterday at Ben,s in South LaleTahoe from the bottom to top of the range allways cheaper than Aust Duty Free/complete rip off.

Hear Hear I say - it's cheaper at my local Dan Murphy's - AND *most* of the staff know their wines inside out and make fantastic recommendations
On the flip side, the Whiskey is pretty good value (especially the single malts)
