Sydney Airport’s Coopers Alehouse has been named Airport Bar of the Year at the international 2014 Airport Food & Beverage (F&B) Awards in Copenhagen.

Other bars given a nod at the awards were Surdyk’s Flights Wine Market & Bar in Minneapolis as Airport Wine Bar of the Year, and Korean Cultural Street in Seoul's Incheon airport as Best Airport F&B Expression of Sense of Place.

Owned and operated by Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR), the brand falls under the same umbrella as many of the Hudsons Coffee outlets in Australia's airports.

ELR Australia Managing Director, Adam Summerville, said, "Coopers is a great Australian brand and partner of ours, and Sydney Airport has been the perfect place to bring the concept to life."

A recent addition to Sydney’s T2 domestic terminal, Coopers Alehouse is within easy reach of passengers travelling with Virgin Australia, Jetstar, Tigerair, Regional Express and Skytrans.

The Food & Beverage Awards, a partnership between The Moodie Report and sister title The Foodie Report, are the world’s only airport-specific food and beverage awards.

Nineteen awards were presented to outlets across a variety of categories and were chosen from a pool of 200 entries submitted from around the globe.

Had a beer there last Friday evening, while waiting for friends to arrive from ADL. Nice that it's tucked away at the end of the concourse. Convienient that most ADL flights also arrive and depart down that end. ?
