    Hmmm - I just booked (domestic on a Sunday - I'm platinum on qantas) and it didn't charge me to pick an exit row seat - very welcome but how's other's experiences? Are you being charged?

    It depends on the airline and this is one of the downsides of qantas. With Virgin it will hold onto checked bags overnight. (last time, last year I had a checked bag)

    Have a look at the LoungeBuddy (iOS) app. It’s sometimes a bit out of date but good developed world coverage and tells you what gate the lounge entrance is near which can be surprisingly useful.
