A hangar event to launch a new logo, highly doubtful. This does though give weight to the new livery debate that would look nice.
I have a feeling the now twice postponed event has something to do with star alliance, interesting now Qatar are using air New Zealand lounges in Australia.
Considering the original VA announcement did say something about a insta-"gramable" event, I'm not sure how taking photos of a Star Alliance partnership comes into play here, and I don't think they'll keep a plane in Star livery in storage for months considering the recovery of air travel putting a strain on all airline staff around the world.
Also, Qatar are remaining in Oneworld for the foreseeable future. Cross-Alliance partnerships are more common than some people think.

Are we assuming the "new era of flying" was a new VA logo? Noticed today that their site has the more standard Virgin Global branding.

That's certainly not what I was assuming. Would be a bit silly to delay the launch for a logo and then still deploy it.

OK looks like you are correct. Ausbt fb page reporting that it was just a logo launch
