Rex delays launch of frequent flyer status perks
Mar 12, 2024, 12:35 AMREX just recently formally announced an interline deal with Etihad (a minor VA partner), so I wouldn't be surprised if EY starts to push ZL interlines more ahead of both QF and VA, considering EY and VA are pretty much minor partners since VA demoted EY in favour of QR.

Qantas Project Sunrise: A350 order, routes, everything you need to know
Feb 23, 2024, 04:23 PMSydney Chicago would be too long in QF's current 789 config to make it non-stop. Perhaps SYD (or MEL)-AKL-ORD instead of the originally planned BNE-ORD in the short/medium term (since they've axed the BNE 787 base post-COVID). Only chance of BNE-ORD getting back up is if the Qld State...

Thai Airways resumes daily Perth-Bangkok flights
Jan 11, 2024, 01:37 AMAlso traditionally TG and MH have struggled in BNE when compared with the SQ juggernaut in the Queensland market. AirAsiaX Thailand had a brief BNE-DMK route which struggled to work despite the Tourism funding/incentives whilst at the same time TG drew back BNE to 4x weekly pre-COVID.

VA potentially partnering with Sri Lankan Airlines?
Oct 03, 2023, 11:12 PMLast I've checked Alliance partners aren't "banned" from partnering with airlines outside of their alliance. NZ has a codeshare with QF on flights in Australia, ditto with SQ/GA (SkyTeam) and NZ/CX (Oneworld) to name a few examples.

QF expedited A330-200 replacement rumour - transfer of JQ 788s
Sep 14, 2023, 03:10 PMOriginally Posted by tommygun If all the Jetstar 788's were to go to Qantas, what does Jetstar do for planes? A321LRs or A321XLRs. Most destinations except HNL are reachable with the 321s. The HNL flying could be picked up by mainline where needed.

Fifth Freedom Rights Query
Jul 28, 2023, 02:04 PM5th freedoms on TransPacific also need DoT (USA) approval in addition to Australia/CASA approval. I do recall DoT approved a proposal for AC to operate LAX-SYD decades ago (which eventually never went ahead), but declined SQ's application on the same sector.

Horrible meal
May 27, 2023, 11:11 PMOriginally Posted by Sibelius I dunno, Rod. I mean, this rant may be justified but as a rant it simply doesn't attain the hights of your unforgettable "Pies in VA Business Class" rant from a couple of years ago. I'm a little disappointed... I remember that QF were also serving Pies and Sausage Ro...

Jetstar moving terminals in Singapore
May 01, 2023, 05:29 PMOriginally Posted by patrickk Not sure Jetstar had much say in the matter. All of the low cost carriers have been moved to terminal four. Hopefully the bus is frequent. TR has moved from T2 to T1 some time ago pre-pandemic, and are staying in T1 post-pandemic.
