I recently noticed that despite being on the same booking, as me as a gold member my family members bags were not tagged as priority. Has anyone else also noticed this on recent virgin australia flights? I personally find this extremely inconvenient, as you end up waiting for your family/friends bags to come out, thereby defeating the purpose. I do note that if 1 person on the booking has status with qantas everyones bags are tagged priority. I wonder if this is a new policy by virgin, if so it is certainly one i dislike!!
I noticed this too, but we were more laughing at the fact my bags that were tagged priority came out after my partners bags which weren’t tagged. This has occurred a few times this year and has become a running joke between my partner and myself.
Last time I checked baggage with Virgin (in April) the ground staff specifically asked if it was okay to check-in both bags under my name, otherwise only one bag would have been tagged as priority. I am only relativity recently gold with VA so unclear if this is a new thing or not. However I do not recall being asked this question in December or January when travelling with family on the same PNR.
