Usually flying out of BNE for international flights to the USA, flying AA has never been an option. But as they're now flying into DFW from BNE, it's come up as an option via the QF website. I was just about to book when I notice you only get 20 status credits on an economy flex fare from BNE to ATL via DFW.

Crazy. I guess I won't be flying AA then.

That's odd. According to the calculator on the Qantas web site (https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/calculators.html) an Economy Flex Fare should give you 100 Status Credits on the leg from Australia to Dallas irrespective of whether you select Qantas or American Airlnes as the carrier (ie. click the carrier drop-down selection on the calculator).

I notice if you select SYD-DFW on the flight booking page of the Qantas web site it correctly indicates that you will receive 100 status credits for the one-way leg. But if you switch the departure point to BNE the status credits are simply shown as an 'X' (no status credits earned),

Must be a glitch with the Qantas web site. I'd probably just contact the airline to clarify.

Odd is right. Whether I search via chrome or the qantas app I get the same results. BNE - ATL via DFW on QF4927 and QF4375 = a massive 20 status credits on a flex fare of $2,636.00.

I tried to upload a screen shot, but doesn't seem to work.

QF is usually very generous with SC’s when you fly on AA. I would wait closer to Oct 29th, when the actual route becomes active, to check again.

I'll keep an eye on it, but I've decided to fly via Sydney on QF. In addition to the status credits, I also avoid the A330 and overnight in LA. And it's significantly cheaper too. Just a shame as the AA option would have been great.

Qantas' status credit calculations shown when you click on a flight option while making a booking always seem off when the booking includes flights with a partner airline (even if on a QF flight number). Might be worth a call to Qantas to clarify. Once the booking is made. The status credit calculations in "your bookings" are correct in my experience. A strange glitch

The calculator has only picked up the DFW-ATL sector. As others have mentioned there seems to be a lag in getting BNE-DFW loaded.
