Have Qantas stopped handing out hot towels on domestic business flights? Cost cutting measure or just a summer thing??

I kinda feel sorry for Qantas.
It seems like they're on a credit watch and every little thing that they do (or don't do in this case) is being audited and assessed as if it's a sign of some impending doom. LOL
Have people lost faith in Qantas?

I agree, it certainly seems so. The media definitely makes it look like they're on a steep downward path and that can't help.

or VAs 'ownership'/overseas 'interests'.....but heaven forbid if QF doesnt supply towels!! ...and VA are still a LCC with a spattering/selective 'full service' aspect... look at the big picture

I agree, there doesn't seem to be much positive qantas news in the press - they tend to always focus on the 'bashing' side.
They were the top airline for Australian domestic on time arrivals and departures for every month of 2013. Apart from Plane Talking (& QF's twitter stream) I didn't see any news coverage about it.

I personally think cold towels are better than hot towel.. i love airlines that chill their towels, and give them to you nicely chilled.

Sydney to Adelaide and Sydney to Melbourne - both return flights in the last fortnight. This was not a Qantas bashing question - it just dawned on me the other afternoon that they seemed to have stopped.

How interesting, I didn't even notice until this post! In business early January to Brisbane I had them, just did business to Adelaide and Melbourne and you are correct, no hot towels! Not that it matters if I didn't notice!

In Business class or Economy? I can't recall being offered towels in economy before...

It has been inconsistent. Some MEL PER flights in Nov and Dec did have them. Also the pre-flight drink was eliminated on the PER MEL service as well.

It's really hit and miss. I flew PER-SYD about a dozen times in December in Business and it was really inconsistent. Also the cabin manager introduction for Platinum QFF is hit and miss also
