I think that the 787 service is expected to 'partially resume service' on February 2. So on some days the service may be operated by the usual 777. I'm confirmed on a 787 flight at the end of the year SYD-NRT. Hope this helps.

Just found out. Japan Airlines will be starting their daily Boeing 787-8 service on the 26th October.

That might be more accurate, all i can confirm is that i'm booked on a 787 in November from SYD
