JQ Business on domestic flights.

I was booking JQ flight and noticed that on some domestic routes they offer business. What is that? New JQ development or they simply reuse international business-fitted planes on domestic routes? Anyone has experience?

If they're on flights like SYD-CNS or SYD-MEL they're often just domestic legs of international JQ flights operated with JQi widebodies with Business.

IIRC they're a favourite for Plats to sneak into the F Lounge.

Can get into the F lounge on these flights regardless of what class you're flying. I did the SYD-OOL leg a few months ago in Y and had a great breakfast in the lounge :)

I was searching Melbourne Cairns when struck on it

As noted above, only those flights on the A330s which are pretty much domestic legs of international flights.

SYD-MEL and MEL-SYD inlcuding JQ35/JQ36/JQ5/JQ6 on various days

Yes, I look at it once more time – it is JQ15 Melbourne international – Cairns international. Though I cannot figure where it flying from Cairns

Got it! It is Melbourne Osaka flight that makes stop over in Cairns.

You can get SYD-MEL in the afternoon on the 787.

And why I would target 787? I understand business, especially with lounge access, but specific plane type? Unless you aviation fan and have an idea to fly each plane type, dono.
