Hello ABTers, I have about 14 months left on my Qantas Club membership, and it looks like I will hit QF Gold in a few weeks. What happens to my remaining QFClub credit? Is it gone forever? Or will the remaining amount be applied if I downgrade back to Silver?

And out of interest, how does it work with VA in this circumstance?

Thank you. :)

(Ignore previous question, I didn't like how short the title was... Feel free to delete first one AUSBT.)

I was in the same position last year. Reached gold half way through qc membership year.  No pro rata credit, but at the end of your membership year you will be gold status for the following year, so you win in the end with complimentary club acess for more than 12 months.

Geezzz... What a waste of $400 then, should have just gone for the 12 month option. #greedy

Thanks mate.

When you reach Gold your paid Qantas Club membership is paused, and then resumes when you eventually drop back down to Silver. :)

I concur. Mine was placed on hold for 13 years (1 gold, 10 plat, then 2 more gold), then restored for the remaining 2 year period of an inital 3 year membership when i dropped to silver due to changed work travel pattern. I did not contact QF, they just got it right.

I've often wondered this.  I'd purchased a 2 year membership about 10 years ago.  The hit gold, and then Platinum.  I now have lifetime Gold Status, so I guess, that's the end of it!

Soooo... I just called Qantas and they said that QFClub is non refundable and I will not get any credit for it.... However they didn't sound too confident on the answer given.

I'm confused now.

You don't need to do anything - it pauses automatically when you hit Gold as above.

thats all ok if you drop back. I am a lifetime QF club member and a lifetime gold [current platinum], both for a very long time, thus my lifetime membership has no value and will never be reinstated. I have never been less than gold or equivalent but thems the breaks and the chances you take. However it would be nice if qf recognised some of these types of loyalty. by offering something extra eg life Platinum or extra lounge privelages [like using lounge when meeting someone] etc
