Hi, I have an upcoming flight SYD - KUL in business on MH. Earlier that day I'll be flying BNE - SYD in economy on a separate booking. Checking the entry rules on the Qantas website it states that:

Eligible if travelling on a Qantas domestic flight connecting to or from a oneworld flight in International Business on the same day

I was wondering if this still applies with separate bookings. If so how do I get in? Show them a print out of my itinerary? Or will they be able to see MH systems?

I have no OW status or QP membership.

Didn't make it clear sorry, I'm checking for entry into the Qantas domestic business lounge in Brisbane.

tmk,

You should be able to use the QF Business lounge at BNE.

As per the oneworld lounge access detailed on the oneworld  website:

"Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:

  • First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (aoneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa)."
I should think the Qantas agents at BNE are able to check you through and issue you boarding passes. That should get you the free airside transfer to the international terminal.

Not to mention the Express Path card, also ask that from the check in person in BNEd.  And the Aust Outgoing Passenger Card, ask for these 2.  Prefill the info in on the flight from BNEd to SYDd.  You can then fly through outgoing immigration.

Also, being a J customer, having the Express Path is a ***send.

You will also need to get from SYDd arrivals, to the int terminal.  Need the QF transfer bus, they scan your BP at dom Gate15 at SYDd.  At the int terminal, as for the Express Path card, you enter immigration hall via a special gate, if you look up at ceiling height of the SYDi terminal, you can't miss the Express Path sign.

Its a very very fast procedure, to go through SYDi immigration and int security check with the Express Path card, they take if off you though once you pass these 2.

If you can, try to do an OLCI for MH and print out your BP, then at SYDi, its just a matter of showing your Aust or other passport for verification, NOTE, even with an OLCI, and having a BP, you will still need to show your airline BP and passport to an MH staff member.  Not sure if your booking will show up on QF's system, or you have to explain your "case" at QF BNEd.  Most likely show and scan passport (on separate booking) will be by MH at SYDi.

I have not used MH, but have with NZ and QF, where even with OLCI, they still need to enter your passport data page and run it through their keyboard to have it (passport data) on their system.

Hopefully, you will have 4 or 5 hours transit time, to do it, ie, time to do the official stuff, then enjoy the lounge, I personally would do the SYDi MH lounge rather than the SYD QFi lounge.

As MH is part of one world and you have a connecting flight with Qantas also One World Show them your tickets including your MH and they will give you a pass to use the business lounge in Brisbane. Hope this helps
