VA doesn't have the cash flow to pick up any extra widebodies atm. Many would prefer VA to continue to fix and slowly expand their domestic network considering they just started making money again after years of loses.
Long Haul International is likely to remain the status quo due to long-standing partnerships/Joint Venture contracts with other carriers. (LAX with DL and HKG with HX/HU).
Short Haul International on the other hand might face some cuts due to the new CEO, not to mention the rumours of some of the low-yielding/earning AU-NZ flights being converted to Tiger.

What do you think of VA buying Jet (bankrupt) widebodies. They have a handful 777 and A330 or pick up their lease??
