We’re hiring: two great job opportunities at Executive Traveller

Executive Traveller is growing – and we’re looking for two talented journalists to become part of the team.

With over one million readers each month, Executive Traveller is not only Australia’s largest independent travel website but also the world’s leading website for business travellers, premium leisure travellers and frequent flyers.

We’re now hiring for two full-time roles of Editor and Senior Journalist.

Both roles not only let you work from home, they are location-independent: while we prefer candidates from Oceania, we’ll consider strong candidates located elsewhere.

Editor, Executive Traveller

Overview

This role is for an experienced journalist with editor-level experience who is passionate and excited about reporting on news, trends and relevant personal experiences relevant to the Executive Traveller audience.

About us

Having launched in 2010 as Australian Business Traveller, Executive Traveller is Australia’s largest independent travel website and the world’s leading website for business travellers, premium leisure travellers and frequent flyers.

Our mission is to help premium travellers have a better, more rewarding experience. We do this by providing news and reviews of domestic and international flights, hotels and lounges, updates on routes, destinations and travel technology, plus tips, strategies and insight to make the most of your trip.

In short: we help people to ‘fly better and fly smarter’.

About you

As Editor of Executive Traveller, you will lead the site’s day-to-day editorial activities while also discovering and crafting interesting and useful content for the Executive Traveller audience.

  • Work closely with key members of the travel industry to discover and craft interesting and useful content for the Executive Traveller audience
  • Produce original and high-quality daily news stories, feature articles and reviews for Executive Traveller and its audience of premium business and leisure travellers: generating story ideas, researching stories and conducting interviews, and writing and editing stories
  • Analyse frequent traveller loyalty programs (eg airlines, hotels, hire cars) and related financial products for articles to help our readers utilise these better
  • Connect with the Executive Traveller audience via comments on the site and on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Utilise traffic data and social analytics to identify new and interesting stories for the audience
  • Continually explore and test new ways of telling and distributing stories, engaging readers and reaching new audiences, with the ultimate goal of making Executive Traveller relevant to more people.

Key selection criteria

  • Previous editorial-level experience
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of the needs of travellers
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
