Royal Brunei axes flights to Brisbane, Perth and Auckland

In brief: Royal Brunei will abandon its current services to Brisbane, Perth and Auckland at the end of October.

The Airline Route website reports that the Brunei national carrier is embarking on a series of strategic cutbacks which will leave Melbourne – a route opened in March this year – as the airline's sole Australian service, with four flights per week between Melbourne and the Brunei capital of Bandar Seri Begawan.

Royal Brunei is aiming to snare the cheaper end of the transit market to London, with fully flexible business class hovering around the A$6,500 mark. However, you shouldn't be in a rush to get to the UK.

Royal Brunei's flight to London has two stops: a three-hour connection in Bandar and a brief refuelling in Dubai, so Royal Brunei will be more attractive for business travellers who find the tradeoff of cheaper flights and relative comfort worth taking a few more hours to reach London.

Flights inbound to Melbourne operate Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, leaving London at 0940 and arriving in Melbourne at 2115 the next day.

From Melbourne to London, flights run on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, departing at 1240 and arriving at 0625 the next morning.

"leaving London at 0940 and arriving in Melbourne at 2115 the same day."  Wow, that's fast!  Perhaps 2115 the next day?

Could this six year old times error please be corrected as requested by tt7?
