Strategic Airlines: Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth 'relief flights'

The new and little-known Strategic Airlines is about to become a much more familiar name to thousands of passengers stranded by the Qantas shutdown.

The carrier – which next month will rebrand as Air Australia and offer low-cost domestic and international services – is opening flights between Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

Sunday 30 October

  • Perth-Brisbane, Flight VC 5501: departing Perth 1.15pm, arriving Brisbane 7.45pm
  • Brisbane-Perth, Flight VC 5502: departing Brisbane 8.45pm, arriving Perth 12.15am on Monday

One-way prices start from $499 Economy and $899 Business Class

Monday 31 October

  • Melbourne-Brisbane, Flight VC5501: departing Melbourne 10.30am, arriving Brisbane 11.40am
  • Brisbane-Melbourne, Flight VC5502: departing Brisbane 1.00pm arriving Melbourne 4.20pm

One-way prices start from $349 Economy and $599 Business Class
