I agree with you. Airbus has good range of aircraft types in the 110-400 passenger market that includes two clean sheet aircraft designs being the A220 and A350. Boeing is stuck to old aircraft designs being the B737 and B777. The only clean sheet aircraft design being the B787.

This is a real coup for Airbus with Qantas selecting the A350-1000 for Project Sunrise. I wouldn't be suprise that Airbus will announce the A350-1000ULR once Qantas firms the order next year, with Qantas being the launch customer.

Having tested all Emirates cabin products, I have found Emirates to be an over hyped and overrated. There are other airlines who have better all cabin products regardless of class flying in.

I would check with Air NZ about they are prepared to offer.As Kiwiwings said, get a NZ based Visa/Mastercard card that earns Airpoints Dollars and Status Points.
