I used Mobile Passport Control App for the first time to enter the US (via LAX) today. I was directed towards counter 43 (diplomats and crew line), two officers were in that line. Only 3 people in front of me. It took 45 seconds for those people to be cleared, and when i walked up, i showed him the MPC app, he only wanted the passport. Asked me why i was there, and 20 seconds later, cleared me, no finger printing, just the photo.
I have never been cleared this efficiently ever, let alone LAX. It would make perfect sense for all aussies to use this MPC (using an australian passport), especially if you are flying in morning peak hours.
I did US pre-clearance at YYZ in October and they didn't even need my passport! Scanned my face with a little webcam, asked why I was going to the US and walked through. Never seen anything like it. Sure beats the lines at LAX!

Many thanks for highlighting this, mscooper ! I had previously read about its existence and promptly forgot it. Am condemned to entering through LAX on an upcoming trip, so your post is a timely reminder for me. Yay, counter 43 here I come!
