What’s going on in the QR business class lounge in DOHA. We passed through on 29/6/19 at 6am and were unable to find a single vacant table. The little “private” living rooms on the left side of the lounge had a solo traveler in each, asleep on the sofa. There were queues 5-6 deep for both gents toilets, and even longer for the ladies. And the mezzanine restaurant had a queue of travelers waiting for tables. Have they started allowing paid access or something. I’ve been through there 5-6 times before but never have I seen it so busy.
You arrived in the middle of QR's morning peak. Of course it was going to be crowded.
(Source: I was there during morning peak recently. That I got to have a shower at all was such a feat of sheer luck the Rebel Alliance would have blushed.)
I've been through there the same as you, 4-5 times perhaps. Morning is ALWAYS peak - they have so so many flights coming in that morning and outgoing then as well - even the rest of the terminal is buzzing. I've been there in the afternoon once as well and had my pick of where i wanted to sit - it was so different. For such a massive lounge, I'm surprised how full it get's - but that shows you that Qatar are successful.
I prefer it to be buzzing to be honest, compared to the eerily quiet Qatar First Class lounge - pretty but souless. Give me the Al Mourjan over Al Safwa any day.
Arrived from Perth at around 5.30am last week. Put my name on the shower list straight away and had one free at approx 7am. You are free to go eat relax etc and then come back. Depends on how much turn around you have. This would be my fourth time through and certainly was the busiest Id experienced but I would suspect peak European holiday period would contribute?? I really like the lounge and the airline. LHR Qatar lounge is fantastic!!
My last journey through Doha at that time, a 3 hour transit, bypassed the lounges and paid for a massage and swim. Only person in the pool and 1 other getting a massage. More relaxing than clamouring for a seat while waiting for a shower. Felt great hopping on the next flight. Just the right amount of transit time. Worth the money in my opinion.

Hi! Where can we get this swim and massage ? Sounds awesome
Its called the Vitality Wellbeing & Fitness Centre - has it's own website.Located near the transit hotel. Not the cheapest massage you'll get but use of the pool is free with one (pool only use is not free).

Never have time in the mornings as always have very short connections, but use it in the evenings, it's never crowded them, just perfect!

Yes regretfully QR hasn't managed to find a balance between Al Safwa & Al Mourjan access. One is an empty ballroom, the other a Tokyo subway.

Sitting in the QR Business Lounge reading this at 2pm and there is hardly anyone in here. Staff constantly calling by wanting to bring me something.
