What Qantas announced was a codeshare with KLM and Air France on three routes: Hong Kong to Paris, Singapore to Paris, and Singapore to Amsterdam. It's not a full alliance or partnership. You can use your Qantas points, but only with AF from Singapore or HKG to Paris, and KLM from HKG to Amsterdam (and back).

In June it was reported that we'll soon be able to book reward flights on KLM and Air France with Qantas points.
I may have missed this but has a timeline been communicated on when this might happen?
I'm really looking forward to having this option when It does happen.
