Hi everyone,

Been trying to find the answer on chauffeur eligibility but couldn't get a definitive answer so thought i would ask. I travel to Europe (Dublin) with Emirates just before Christmas. I am travelling on a full paid business ticket booked through Qantas with QF flight number as i'm a QF platinum. I connect from Melbourne to Sydney on the outward leg to Dublin and go direct on the return to Melbourne. My question is 1- Can i get a chauffeur from home to Melbourne airport for a Qantas domestic connection to the Emirates flight from Sydney, 2- Can i get a chauffeur both to and from the airport in Dublin, and lastly 3- Can i get a chauffeur home from Melbourne airport on my return flight in Jan. Thanks all for any help. Cheers.

I will give you my experience. However, this was more than 2 years ago. Had a QF ticket for the entire journey.

BNE-SYD-DXB-FRA-DXB-BNE

I got the EK ticket number and set it up on EK website which gave me a EK PNR/Ticket number.

I called through EK to set this up, and i had a pick up organized in SYD and DXB (in/out), FRA and BNE, as other destinations i had other arrangements. However, the day prior to travel, i was notified that QF tickets do not qualify for chaffeur, but interestingly the chaffeur called to pick me up in Sydney (overnight stay), and there were cars on either end at DXB, but nothing at FRA or BNE.

So, unsure if they fixed this loop hole or they are more open to the idea of honouring this to QF tickets.

Many thanks for the response mspcooper. It does seem to be a disconnected process for sure. I will try the same with the Emirates call centre.

Cheers,

The Emirates website says the following about Chauffeur drive availability from Melbourne and Sydney.

Qantas codeshare flights operated by Emirates (with a QF flight number) between Asia and Australia/New Zealand don't offer Chauffeur-drive. If you'd like Chauffeur-drive, you must be booked on an Emirates operated flight (with an EK flight number).

Interestingly it doesn't specifically say that they can't be used on arrival/departure from European airports or Dubai. I might give it a go when flying to Munich next year.

Thanks Travelbugsbitten. I saw that section on the website but assumed that it was referring more to an emirates flight from Australia to say Singapore or Auckland. I might just give Emirates a call and see how i go, i can revert back and update this if i get a response. thanks all.
