New Virgin Australia flights: Brisbane to Bundaberg, Moranbah

Virgin Australia is expanding business travellers' options from its hub at Brisbane, with new flights to Moranbah and Bundaberg in regional Queensland.
Brisbane-Moranbah services will start off twice daily on weekdays as of 2 April, with an extra weekday flight from 15 April. On weekends, there'll be a single Sunday return.
Brisbane-Bundaberg, meanwhile, will see a single daily afternoon return flight on the hour-long journey, with a 1240 departure from Brisbane and a 1410 takeoff from Bundaberg.
Virgin Australia's Group Executive of Alliances, Network and Yield Merren McArthur is keen to spruik the connections offered to and from Bundaberg: "There are 11 domestic and international connections within three hours of the flight landing in Brisbane," McArthur explains.
Both regional Queensland flights will use all-economy ATR turboprop aircraft, currently operated by regional airline Skywest, which Virgin is in the final stages of buying outright.
Virgin will also upgrade some of its Brisbane-Perth flights to an Airbus A330 service – see our report for full details.

Virgin's ATRs aren't that bad for short flights but I agree that flights to Canberra should be given some better aircraft and attention.
