Attention, Twitter-connected travellers: Qantas has changed channels on Twitter.
From today, the Flying Kangaroo will no longer be twittering away on the familiar @QantasAirways account to the airline's 210,000 followers.
The new address is just @Qantas. Can't get much simpler than that, can you?
@Qantas will now be the sole account for all Qantas' activities on Twitter, so it's sure to keep the airline's social media team on their toes.

I think you'll find the verb is 'to tweet', therefore they'd be tweeting away, not twittering away. ;)

I think you'll find that journalists love a little wordplay and fun with the language rather than being strictly bound by standard ideom. ;) Just be thankful I resisted the temptation to call Twitter users the 'Twitterati' :p

Appears that the old @QantasAirways was just renamed by Twitter to @Qantas, as all 210k+ followers have moved across.
