The reason SQ/QR work is they can use their hubs to transfer people from a large range of destinations into different AU ports, an option not available to Qantas. Would only work from destinations with large numbers of returning travelers. ie LHR / LAX etc....not economically viable to both...

I would have thought there would be 787 crew in BNE and PER?Or else don't see why A330s couldn't operate these flights?

With our case rates i agree.However generally im not convinced. 1 flight from DXB to PER had later 20 confirmed cases of covid - suspected to have been transmitted on board

Jetstar is the only airline i haven't been able to get a refund from, despite in some cases having a max (refundable fare).I now have over $3K in credits....

I think the route was performing well prior to Covid, so i think it will come back eventually, probably on a smaller aircraft, maybe 787-9
