I booked business class Sydney to Brisbane return a few months ago using QFF points and was able to select seats for both flights. Flight is in a couple of weeks time and I just received an email advising my Bris to Syd return leg has been cancelled and I am on an earlier flight still in Business class. I accepted the change but now when I login I cannot select my seat for the return leg - just aisle preference.
Anyone experienced this before and any advice on what I can do?

Could it be that the aircraft type is not confirmed (and thus the seating layout not finalised) ? Maybe one thing you can try is jump back on the Qantas website and go through the process of booking a seat on the same flight - do you see a seat selection map (should appear before the payment step) ? Alternatively you can try calling the Qantas customer service line to see whether your preferred seat is available.
HappyTravella. Agree with Rod H, the post by PaulB is perfectly reasonable. It's ironic that you refer to yourself as 'happy' when you only post sarcastic comments. Perhaps 'sadtravella' would be more fitting. BTW - troll to your heart's content, I won't be checking any responses to this post.

Good grief. It is a one hour flight on a 737 and most likely full load with real paying passengers! Try not to weep to much !
Surprised you haven’t been booted yet, suspect it won’t be long considering your contributions.
The reason this happens is that the seats that you are allowed to select are allocated.
It does not mean that business class is full, just that you will need to to way until 80 hours before to departure for the whole cabin to become available.
Essentially, Row 1 is blocked for Platinum One and Chairman’s Lounge and Platinums who are on points tickets purchased by a platinum 1/CL
Row 2 is for gold and above and row 3 is for everyone.
I have this same problem too. Both on a cancelled (by QF) and rebooked flight MEL to SYD, but also on a MEL to BWT flight plus the return, which I booked months ahead on classic rewards. I find it hard to believe that one is full already... And I'm plat.

Don't panic.. odds on that you will be in Row 1..they use that for changes like yours. If your profile favors window seats, that's where U will be.
Been there and experienced that type of change.

paulb asked a simple reasonable question and deserves a reasonable sensible answer NOT sarcasm.

In response to Paulb's question, I suspect that it might be becuase Business Class is full. Have a look on Seat Alerts to see if that is the case.
