Happy new year all!

Just wondering if anyone thinks a certain QF flight from LAX back to any Australian port has a higher chance of upgrade than the other.

Will be flying from LAX to PER on Monday 22/04/19 so doesn't matter if I take QF12 (SYD)/ QF56 (1ST BNE)/ QF16 (2nd BNE)/ QF94 (MEL).

Platinum FF, 2x PAX on the itinerary wanting upgrade from Y to J. So should I go with any of the above listed flight in particular to maximise chances?

Appreciate peoples input.

Fellow PER traveller here, I’m a big fan of QF94 and have never been denied an upgrade on that flight - but I prefer this service so I can connect onto QF9 and spend some time in the MEL F lounge ;)

I would use the Brisbane option followed by Melbourne. I rndvto use Brisbane from Canberra for that reason. Sydney has a much lower chance. Also check a day of the week that has more business sale fares. Mid week for example.

Definitely not Sydney. Melbourne has the larger a380 witch has more J seats but not sure if load factors are high as well. If aiming for the new business class, definitely Brisbane but not sure if QF56 beats QF 16.

Only anecdotal, but my partner and I (I'm Gold and she is Silver) were upgraded on our mid-December QF56 flight on a Monday night. A review of ExpertFlyer 24 hours out showed quite a few J class seats empty also.
