Tomorrow I am flying CNS BNE AKL. I will become silver during the BNE AKL leg.
I'm only there for 38 hours for a conference and returning Sunday AKL BNE CNS. On the return leg, I'll be bringing back a looooot of stuff (old uni text books which are very heavy).
Am I honoured my status baggage allowance or because the trip was booked before becoming silver, it won't be? Fare is a business class one
I'm 19 points shy of returning to Platinum (31/3 anniversary) and flying Brisbane - Phoenix next week - I'm looking forward to rocking up to the Qantas First lounge at LAX for a shower!
Even if not reflected on your downloaded boarding pass it will be on your App, just hit My QFF tab bottom right and then your card icon, top right and exact status is indicated, most times it updates mid flight.

My experience last year going from Gold to Platinum on a multi leg trip in Asia was immediate.
