Any more news on this? To retain my platinum status (April membership year) the number of months are getting shorter and shorter and with mainly domestic travel opening up first, the number of flights I would have to take is beyond reasonable .

Missed out on any extensions since I had already been loyal customer for the year and retained by status by January and really felt penalised.

What do you think Qantas will do next. Likely (well 50:50 ) will be in the air in J for Xmas but that is still up in the air.

I'm sure it's top of Alan Joyce's "To Do" list. Await the comments, but feels to me that perhaps you've not read the mood of the nation with this one!

My dates are exactly the same, I am really not bothered and I won't be chasing status for the sake of it, loyalty is a two way deal and if QF don't recognise my loyalty over the years then I will just reciprocate that in the way I travel in future.

i wouldn't be surprised is there is another extension. Otherwise lots of FFs will lose status and thats the last thing Qantas would want when travel starts up

It seems to me that this one is almost a no-brainer. Qantas will be scraping to get all of the business they can once flying kicks back into gear. Hence, another revision of the status extension is a must to keep the customer base happy. Perhaps only a further 6-month increment? We will see.
