Hi All,

I have got a trip coming up to Helsinki from Perth via Dubai and London.

The Perth - Dubai leg is with Emirates, the Dubai - London leg is with Qantas and the London - Helsinki leg is with Finnair. Does anyone know which lounge (if any) I can use on my stop over in London (approx 3 hours) ?

Also similar question when leaving Helsinki - Which lounge ? (Taking the reverse home Fin,QF,EK)

I am QFF Platinum,

Cheers,

Hi Stuart,

In LHR T3 prior to LHR/HEL you may use either the Galleries Business, Galleries First, CX Business/First, Admirals Club or the AA Flagship lounges on account of your QFF Platinum (Emerald) status. CX lounges are the AY designated lounges at LHR T3.

In the past I would have chosen the Galleries lounges however BA has from May this year changed their caterers for the LHR lounges. Reviews of the current food offering by the new caterers, BaxterStorey has been bad, especially for the Galleries Business lounge. There is a still a table "service" (" " because they're not as proactive as waiters in QF First SYD or MEL)

For the LHR/DXB leg from T3 the options are the same, although the official QF designated lounges are the BA Galleries Business and First lounges. Contrary to reports in the past, the EK lounges are out of bounds unless you're flying on EK metal.

Some disgruntled BA pax have resorted to using the T3 CX lounges in protest at the shoddy offerings by BaxterStorey. I might do the same if my LHR outbound flight is later in the day as the Galleries First breakfast menu is quite lovely, albeit old school. I particularly enjoyed the kippers and poached eggs and the boiled egg with marmite soldiers. You can't go wrong with freshly made noodles at the CX lounges for the rest of the day!

In Helsinki flyng with Finniar and as QF Plat you will have access to Finnair Lounge between gates 36&37- very comfortable, modern Scandi deigns as you'd expect, they put a good cooked breakfast in the mornings and the showers are also very good/maintained.
